Not long back from our little turn at The Bedford, Balham. I found out they did a webcast of the evening, so quickly tried to alert a few friends in the US and Australia that they might be able to catch us. We did two tiny sets, comprising two ‘Sweetener’ songs (‘I’ve Always Wanted You’ & ‘Sour Faced Woman’) and two ‘Overspill’ songs (‘The Sun Is Cracking The Flags’ and ‘I’d Be All Over That’). The audience reaction was good and my band, as ever, were spot on. I still feel a bit rusty on my Strat, but I’m sure I’ll be battle-hardened enough soon. The next one is at The Half Moon in Putney on Thurs 29 July, but no webcast there I think. The picture was emailed to me by a great friend of mine who somehow found out we were on & watched us from his kitchen table in the Cotswolds with his missus and a bottle of vino for company. Jeez, ain’t the Internet amazin’?
I think they archive these shows for a while, so if I can find it – and it doesn’t sound too dishevelled – I’ll put a link up so you can partake of some nutritious, South London funkiness.
